Quick Quacks Home

Welcome to Quick Quacks

Quick Quacks Motorcycle Club are a group of medics and health professionals, based in the UK, who like riding motorbikes.

Bikes of all kinds, all ages and all levels of reliability, but the important thing is we like riding our motorbikes.

When we are not riding, we are chatting, and the Quacks do like to chat!

What We Do

Quick Quacks usually host two main meetings a year, in May and September.  Over the past two decades (and counting) we have explored routes across England, Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland – from sweeping A roads via twisty B roads to tortuous ‘technical’ roads and back to A roads again. In addition to the main meetings, we get together informally from time to time for local rides and some of these have become regular events in their own right e.g. the Settle ‘Fish n’ Chips’ run in June.

Travelling from all corners of the UK we meet at a hotel on a Friday night, go for ride on the Saturday and depart, after a short club meeting, on the Sunday morning. We usually split into smaller groups for the ride, to accommodate all speeds and types of riding and, with 30-50 bikes taking part, this is also a practical necessity. We ride to the ‘Marker System’ so there is absolutely no need for anyone to go faster than they wish or to try to ‘keep up’. We also have a number of musicians who play at our main meetings, making the Saturday night dinner quite an occasion.

Some meetings involve longer ‘extension’ rides. In the past smaller groups have travelled to France, ridden from John o’ Groats to Land’s End, visited all four corners of Scotland and, on our 20th anniversary in 2017, ridden to all four ‘centroids’ of the UK. There is a list of all the meeting locations and links to some of the extension reports on the History page.

When we are not riding, we are chatting. The Quick Quacks private Facebook group is now the main source of current information about local get togethers and ‘ride in’ groups for the main meetings, along with all sorts of other chat and photos. There is also an e-mail list on Google Groups for those who don’t want to get involved with social media.
